Police arrest 18-year-old for defiling minor in Senya Bereku
Police in the Central East Region have arrested an 18-year-old man, Isaac Gyan, for the alleged defilement of a 15-year-old girl at Anomansa, a community within the Senya Bereku district.

The victim formally reported the assault to the Senya Bereku District Police Command on Saturday, May 23, leading to the suspect’s swift apprehension later that same day.
According to the victim's statement, the incident occurred at approximately 6:00 AM on Friday, May 22. The suspect, popularly known in the community as "Kwame Okoto," allegedly lured the teenager into his room under the pretense of wanting to talk.
Once inside, Gyan reportedly locked the door and overpowered the victim. The victim told police that she desperately tried to escape and pleaded with him to stop, informing him that she was on her menstrual cycle, but her pleas were ignored.
Following her report, the police issued a medical form to the victim to undergo a comprehensive hospital examination.
The Central East Regional Police Command has used this incident to remind the public of the importance of reporting sexual crimes immediately. Authorities reassured the community of their unwavering commitment to tracking down, arresting, and prosecuting sex offenders to ensure justice is served.
